Mike Moynahan Returns from Golfsmith’s Master Craftsman Program
Golfsmith’s Renowned Training School in Austin, Texas
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii (June 23, 2004) – Michael Moynahan of Kama’aina Clubmakers
recently completed Golfsmith’s Master Craftsman Program in Austin, Texas, a
school that offers instruction and hands-on training in advanced clubmaking
skills including: club-head and shaft design analysis, customized grinding and
head shape profiling, and golf component manufacturing techniques. Students also
learned how to analyze a golf swing for fitting purposes, and observe the ball
flight characteristics of different equipment as tested on Max Headspeed – the
only mechanical testing robot in the golf components supply industry.
Participants received a thorough understanding of products, processes and
techniques, and invaluable shop experience working alongside Golfsmith’s
technical staff.
Kama’aina Clubmakers performs repairs for players and tour representatives at
highly acclaimed tournaments such as the Mercedes Championship (1999-2004) and
the EMC Ka’anapali Classic (Senior PGA Tour 1999, 2000), as well as the Kapalua
Lincoln Mercury Tournament (1996, 1997). In conjunction with Roy’s Restaurant
staff, in 1998 Mike Moynahan established and still currently co-chairs the Roy’s
Restaurants Tournaments benefiting Imua Family Services (Easter Seal of Maui).
Mike is an avid community supporter and also simply enjoys the game – as does
his son, Brendan Moynahan, PGA, who is the head golf professional of The
Experience at Koele on the island of Lanai.
