Recipient of New Award: 2006-2007 Top
Ten Worldwide Clubmaker of the Year
Kula, Maui, Hawaii (November 9, 2006)—Mike
Moynahan, golf clubmaker and owner of Kama’aina Clubmakers in Upcountry Maui,
was recently named 2006-2007 Top Ten Worldwide Clubmaker of the Year by the Golf
Clubmakers Association (GCA). This makes the third year in a row that Moynahan
has been selected as the GCA Hawaii Clubmaker of Year. The GCA receives hundreds
of nominations from around the world for the prestigious overall Clubmaker of
the Year award—this award is judged by a panel consisting of several GCA
officials and other golf clubmaking experts. This year they selected winners
from each state (U.S.), province (Canada) and country (International) who
exemplify the overall best qualities of golf club repair, club fitting and
community work.
“All of the 2006-2007 GCA award winners should be
proud because they have received what many consider to be some of the clubmaking
industry’s highest honors, said Golfsmith R & D vice president, Jeff Sheets, who
served on the panel of judges. “This award recognizes Mr. Moynahan’s ability,
integrity and professionalism.”
