GCA Names Mike Moynahan
Hawaii Clubmaker of the Year 2004-2005
Golf Clubmakers Association (GCA) Names Mike Moynahan Hawaii Clubmaker of the
Year, 2004-2005
The First Clubmaker to Receive this Honor
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lahaina/Kula, Maui, Hawaii (December 17, 2004) – Mike Moynahan, owner of Kama’aina Clubmakers in
Kula and Honokowai, Lahaina, was recently named 2004-2005 Hawaii Clubmaker of
the Year by the Golf Clubmakers Association (GCA). He is the first clubmaker to
receive this honor.
The GCA received hundreds of nominations from around the world for the
prestigious overall Clubmaker of the Year award. This year, the extremely
competitive selection process was expanded to recognize the accomplishments of
even more deserving clubmakers. For the first time since the inception of the
award in 1996, a panel consisting of several GCA officials and other golf
clubmaking experts selected winners from each state (U.S.), province (Canada)
and country (Europe). As in the past, regional finalists were then selected from
northern, southern, eastern and western sections of the United States as well as
Canada, Europe and an international venue to cover all other applicants.
“All of the 2004-2005 GCA award winners should be proud because they have
received what many consider to be some of the clubmaking industry’s highest
honors,” said Golfsmith Vice President, Ken Brugh, who served on the panel of
judges. “This award recognizes Mr. Moynahan’s ability, integrity and
professionalism.”
This is the second GCA award for the veteran clubmaker of nine years. He was
named
Western Region Clubmaker of the Year in 2002-2003. Moynahan and the other award
winners were honored during the GCA’s International Conference held Oct. 7-11,
2004 in Austin, Texas.
